Musical Bin Dippers’ for Leicestershire Community Curators at Menphys Hub, South Wigston.

Lockdown families took part in 6 weeks of music and art sessions based around the local heritage of their area in South Wigston. The aim was to use creativity to help provide some entertainment, alongside a social forum for new and isolated parents. Taking a nickname for the Leicestershire fox, we turned ourselves into ‘Musical Bin Dippers’, looking for adventure.

Inspired by canals, factories and a mysterious music hall star, the parents and children listened to a huge variety of music, with everything from Vivaldi to Queen. They played musical games, composed songs and made their very own finger puppets and theatres.

As the weeks progressed the families grew in confidence as well as making new friends. The final sessions were magical, with everyone taking part in a mini-show they helped create.me. It's easy. It's easy.
